Tesla Cybertruck’s Jack Mode: What It Means and How to Use It

But here’s the catch: that same smart suspension can make changing a tire tricky—unless you know about Jack Mode. In this quick guide, we’ll show you exactly how Jack Mode works, why it matters, and how to turn it on the next time you need to lift your Cybertruck.

What is Cybertruck Jack Mode and How to Use It

When it’s time to lift the Cybertruck, Jack Mode is the feature you’ll want to use. It’s designed specifically to prevent the vehicle from adjusting its height while you’re jacking it up, which keeps things safe and steady.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Set the Ride Height to “Medium”
   Go to:

   Controls > Dynamics > Ride Height

   Or on the Tesla app:

   Tap Controls, then slide up to adjust Ride Height.

   Tesla recommends the Medium setting because it gives you enough space to get most jacks under the vehicle, while keeping the Cybertruck stable and level.

2. Activate Jack Mode
   Once your ride height is set, head to:

   Controls > Service > Jack Mode

   Tap to enable it. The system will pop up a warning that Jack Mode is now active.

And that’s it! While Jack Mode is turned on, the truck won’t try to adjust itself, even if only one wheel is being lifted. It stays locked in place so you can change a tire safely.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

• Once Jack Mode is turned on, you can’t change the ride height again unless you turn Jack Mode off.
• You can also turn Jack Mode off by putting the Cybertruck into Drive or Reverse.
• It’s perfectly fine to use Jack Mode while the vehicle is in Low or High ride height too—but Tesla says Medium gives you the best balance between clearance and safety.

Jack Mode Can Even Turn Itself On

Here’s something you might not expect—Jack Mode can activate automatically to protect your Cybertruck.

Let’s say your truck’s bumper rests on a curb. Tesla’s sensors might detect that and automatically trigger Jack Mode to avoid damaging the suspension. Pretty smart, right?

Once the vehicle is back on flat ground, or if you shift into gear, Jack Mode will switch itself off.
